Trouser pants are one of my absolute must-haves and in the latest episode of 'THRIFTING LIKE A STYLIST', I'm breaking down my tips to finding the perfect pair.

Catch the latest episode above and take these notes with you next time you go thrifting:

THRIFT NOTES//

  1. Shop the men's section: Trousers in the men's section can offer interesting darts and pleats that may not be available in the women's section. I like a double pleat!

  2. Scan the waist bands: make it easy for yourself by scanning for belt loops, button closures and double pleats.

  3. Start with neutrals: It can be helpful to start with black, grey, navy blue, khaki, or brown to ensure easy mixing and matching with your wardrobe.

  4. Play with patterns: Don't be afraid to experiment with patterns! Pinstriped, plaid, or bold colored trousers can add a pop to your ensemble.

  5. Find a fit that works for you: Whether you prefer slouchy, high-waisted, or a tapered leg, there's a fit for everyone. Playing around with belts and cuffs can also help strike the perfect style for you.

  6. Look for good brands: Eddie Bauer, Landsend, Ralph Lauren, 90s Gap and Banana Republic are all worth exploring.

  7. Look for stiffer fabrics: 100% cotton or utilitarian fabric can hold their shape and add that extra level of chic!
