CURRENTLY INSPIRED
party girl
Have your watched PARTY GIRL?!
Somehow I missed out on the 1995 cult classic PARTY GIRL starring Parker Posey the first time around, but currently I can't stop swooning over Mary and all her outfits parading along the streets of New York City.
Costumed by Michael Clancy, it's a magical blend of designers like Vivienne Westwood and Todd Oldham, vintage finds and Parker's own personal closet collection.
Mary's head-to-toe looks take center stage throughout this quirky indie film and I was on constant pause-mode throughout... studying each look and taking notes!
And... the inspiration is flowing into my daily dress up routine.
Of course, I had to share and even shop some PARTY GIRL INSPIRED vintage pieces selected just for you... grab them quick (I'm eyeing that tapestry suit!)
vivienne westwood magic!!
One of my favorite looks featured in the film is Mary's vintage Vivienne Westwood skirt suit. I love the idea of styling up skirt suits right now and breaking them up to wear as separates too!
A key item in Mary's closet is a leopard print faux fur jacket that is worked in to a few of her different outfits throughout the film. *notice the genius styling of wearing it shrugged (but cinched) off the shoulders.
The film opens with Mary in a red corset top, sequin shorts and textured tights... I'm hooked!
